“We recognize the space existing between what we are called to be and
what we often are; we are searching for ways to close this gap.”
(From Priority A: Gen.Ch.Doc. 2008)
“The great spiritual writers all tell us that if we do not progress, we will
regress in the spiritual life. The choice is ours.”
(Excerpt from Sr.Suzanne Phillips’ letter of Sept.6, 2012)
As a follow-up to Priority A mandate from the last General Chapter,
the Institute began a global training of FMM formators, beginning with
a core group in Rome and then implemented by six-week meetings by
language groups in several sites throughout the Institute. At the October
to December 2012 meeting held in Providence and hosted by the USA
province Sr. Sheila Lehmkuhle, Sr. Nga Le, and Sr. Loan Nguyen were
among the participants, joined by FMM’s from Poland, Canada,
South Africa, Cameroons, Australia, Malta, etc. These formators in turn
are conducting shorter sessions in their own provinces so that all Sisters
of the Institute may participate in this program.
