Sr. Josepha Chong Tae Soon, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 19, 1979 and pronounced her final vows March 12, 1987 in Seoul, Korea. Her ministries in Korea included teaching religious education in mission stations, assistant supervisor in a hostel for young women workers and for students, and local coordinator in Pusan. She served on the formation program for pre-novices and novices, was responsible for the continuing education program and the accompaniment of sisters in First Vows and was a provincial counselor. In 2003 Sr. Josepha was sent in mission to Cuba where she visited sick and elderly persons, studied Spanish and guided a Bible study group. In 2003 she was sent on mission to the USA. Presently she is doing advanced studies in pastoral care, counseling and spiritual direction. |

Sr. Mary B. Griffin, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 8, 1979 and pronounced her final vows August 2, 1986 in North Providence. Her ministries have included teaching religious education both in elementary and in high schools. In 1987 she was sent in mission to Columbia, South America where she served in pastoral ministry and did language studies. Her next mission was to Ecuador. On returning to the USA Sr. Mary was sent in mission to Chamberino, New Mexico where she continued her pastoral care ministry and served on the province vocation team, to North Smithfield, R.I. working in pastoral care with the elderly, and to Manhattan, NY, where she served as a religious outreach coordinator for McMahon Services for Children. Her present ministry is parish receptionist. |

Sr. Emma Marie Balaguer, FMM entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on September 16, 1954 and made her final profession on September 17, 1960. During temporary profession she started her medical education, and after internship and residency she left for India in July, 1965. Four months in Malaysia, 6 years in South India, and 9 years in Kashmir, India were filled with General Practice, Pediatrics and Surgery. At the request of the Superior General Sr. Emma returned to the United States and practiced in North Carolina for 2 years and in Missouri for 20 years, where she was working for the City of St. Louis Health Department at the School Health Service visiting the public and parochial schools, doing physical exams for children and youth from kindergarten through senior high school. In 2003, after 40 years of medical practice, Sr. Emma was sent in mission to Holy Family Community, North Providence where she had entered 50 years ago. Her current ministry is at the Mission Resource Center, North Providence. |

Sister Pauline Mary Williams, FMM entered the Franciscan Missionaries June 2, 1955 in Coldash, UK and pronounced her final vows June 13, 1964 in Brighton, Massachusetts. After completing her nursing studies in Drogheda, Ireland, she was sent in mission to the United States in 1963. Sr. Pauline worked for thirty years in Kennedy Memorial Hospital, now called Franciscan Hospital for Children, and served as the Director of the Kennedy Day School. She did Biblical Studies in CTU and in the Holy Land, and then worked for the United Cerebral Palsy as the Director of Early Intervention. Sr. Pauline served as the superior of her community. Currently she is serving on the provincial council and is the administrator of the FMM Assisted Living Residence. |

Sister Beatrice Ferrari, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, December 8, 1954 and pronounced her final vows June 13, 1960 in North Providence. Her ministries throughout her religious life have been in finances - as bookkeeper in St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, New York, as treasurer in various communities and as the provincial treasurer for several years. Sr. Beatrice has served as superior in communities in St. Louis, Missouri, Roslyn, New York and in the Bronx and as a provincial councilor. She is presently in Holy Family Community where she participates in the life and activities of the community. Her ministry is prayer for the needs of the church and of the world. |

Sr. Trinidad Castrillo, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on June 13, 1954 in Tagatay City, Philippines. Sent in mission to Jakarta, Indonesia, she taught in an FMM International School. She pronounced her final vows June 13, 1960 in Bogor, Indonesia. Sr. Trinidad's ministries in Indonesia were in pastoral and secretarial work in Badjawa, Sindanglaya and Serang. Fluent in English, Tagalog and Indonesian as well as understanding Spanish and French, she did translation work for the novitiate. When she was sent in mission to the Philippines her ministries were pastoral and secretarial work in Manila, Tagatay, Cubao and Sta. Anna. The USA was her next sending on mission. In North Providence she worked in the Finance Office of the FMM Skilled Nursing Facility and her present ministry is the Provincial Finance Office in Bronx, NY. |

Sr. Maria Teresa de los Rios, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on March 5, 1955 in Pamplona, Spain and pronounced her final vows September 17, 1960 in Grottaferrata, Italy. After serving several years in the Pontifica in Rome, she was sent in mission to Divine Providence Child Care Shelter in Manhattan where she served as a group mother. After completing studies in social work her ministries were case worker in Divine Providence Child Care Shelter, administrator and community coordinator in St Francis Residence, San Francisco, case worker and pastoral care in Chicago and Waukegan, IL. Her present ministry is pastoral care primarily for Hispanic speaking persons in Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Manhattan. |

Sr. Mary M. Motte, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on September 15, 1954 and pronounced her final vows March 19, 1964 in North Providence. Her ministries included child care worker, nursery school worker, teacher and provincial secretary. She was sent in mission to Rome where she worked on the FMM Constitutions and was mission resource person for the generalate, as well as consultant to the Pontifical Council for Christian Unity and one of the Roman Catholic liaisons to the Commission on World Mission and Ecumenism at the World Council of Churches. Sent in mission to the US province, Mary worked at the US Catholic Mission Association in Washington, DC. She set up and directed the FMM Mission Resource Center in North Providence. She served two terms as a provincial councilor and is currently the provincial of the USA Province. |

Sr. Lucie Kristofik, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on March 14, 1955 and made her final profession on September 17, 1960 in North Providence. She nursed at Franciscan Hospital for Children in Brighton, MA before being sent in mission to Pakistan. Her ministry of nursing was continued there at St. Raphael Hospital and Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Her next mission sending was to St. Lawrence Community in Karachi, Pakistan working in religious education and in the school office. When she returned to the USA she was sent in mission to Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, NY where her ministry was in the personnel office. Sr. Lucy's other ministries were being coordinator in two communities, pastoral and youth work in Orlando, FL, religious education in mission outposts of Chichiltah, and St. Michael's, AZ amongst the Navajo people and in Pine Mountain, Georgia, where she also did hospital visitation. Her current ministry is in the Provincial Finance Office, Bronx, NY. |

Sr. Mildred Morrissey, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary on September 15, 1954 and made her final profession on March 19, 1960 in North Providence. A teacher and a social worker, her ministries have been in both fields. As a social worker she served in Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, NY and Divine Providence Child Care Shelter, NY. When she was sent on mission to Australia Sr. Mildred taught in Ave Maria College in Essendon and in schools and colleges in other locations. At Marymead Children's Center in Canberra she was the Program Director. On returning to the USA she was principal of Espirito Santo School, Fall River, St Brigid School, Abington, and All Saints Academy. She served as the Vice-President for Mission Effectiveness at Franciscan Hospital for Children. Currently she is Religious Education Director for Christ the King Parish in Pine Mountain, GA. |

Patricia A. Murphy, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 17, 1944 and pronounced her final vows September 17,1951 in North Providence. Throughout her religious life her ministry has been teaching. She began teaching in Espirito Santo School Fall River and then was sent in mission to Kobe, Japan where she taught in Stella Maris School. After returning to the USA and completing further studies, she was sent in mission to St. Anthony's Community, Fall River where she served as the local coordinator and the principal of Espirito Santo School. Sr. Patricia was missioned to Chicago where she taught and then to Holy Family Community, Providence, where she served as the local coordinator. In 1991 she was sent to St. Francis Community in San Francisco and did pastoral outreach. Missioned to Visitation Community in Cambridge, MA she resumed her ministry of teaching. Currently her ministry is pastoral visitation and volunteer work in a soup kitchen in Providence. |

Sr. Virginia Ptak, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 16, 1944 and pronounced her final vows March 19, 1950 in North Providence. Her ministries have been in the health care field, first as an X-ray technician in St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn and then in the Frontier Nursing Service in Hyden, Kentucky. She was sent in mission to St. Michael's, Arizona to the Navajo people where she worked in Rehoboth Hospital, to St. Petersburg, Florida where she did home health nursing and then to St. Anthony's Community, Fall River. Sr. Virginia served as the local coordinator of St. Michael's Community, North Providence and also did educational sessions for the nursing staff of the FMM Skilled Nursing Facility. At St. Francis Community, Roslyn, New York, she did public health nursing. Her current ministry at St. Francis is welcoming children who come from other counties for cardiac surgery and arranging their appointments for procedures. |

Sr. Anne Richards, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 17, 1944 and pronounced her final vows March 19, 1950 in North Providence. She was sent on mission to Kobe, Japan where her ministry was teaching in Stella Maris International School. Later, she served as the principal of this school. In 1964, she was sent for advanced studies and also taught in Manila, Philippines. Returning to the USA she was the Directress of Novices at Holy Family Novitiate, North Providence, Directress of Divine Providence Child Care Agency and the coordinator of her community. Sr. Anne returned on mission to Japan where she resumed her teaching ministry. Back in the USA again she was sent to Visitation Community in Cambridge, MA where she taught English as a Second Language and then to North Providence as a local coordinator. Her present ministry is prayer and suffering for the Church and the world. |

Sr. Mary S. Bayer, FMM, entered the entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 18, 1939 in North Providence. After pronouncing her final vows in 1945 she began studies in St. Anne's Hospital, Fall River. She served as a registered nurse in FMM missions in Cardinal Hayes Home for Children, Millbrook, NY, Divine Providence Child Care Agency, Manhattan, and in St Francis Sanatorium, now known as St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY. After completing studies in occupational therapy she served as the Director of the Occupational Therapy Department in the newly opened Kennedy Memorial Hospital (1947), now called Franciscan Hospital for Children in Brighton, MA. Sr. Mary has served as the local coordinator in communities in New York, Boston and N. Providence. Her current ministry is that of prayer and suffering for the Church and the world. |

Sr. Cecile T. Couture, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 12, 1939 in North Providence and made her final vows, March 19, 1946 in St. Clement's Eucharistic Shrine, Boston. Her ministries throughout her religious life have been in nursing and nursing education - in St. Francis Sanatorium, now called St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, New York, and in the Department of Training and Education at Rhode Island Medical Center where she prepared Certified Nursing Assistants for licensure exams. Sr. Cecile taught at Salve Regina College, and English to Hispanic and Vietnamese students.. She was active in her parish music ministry. Her current ministry is prayer for the Church and the world. |

Sr. Theresa M. Zavota, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary June 14, 1940 and made her final vows December 15, 1945 in North Providence. Her ministries were nursing in St. Francis Sanatorium, now called St. Francis Hospital, and as the assistant to the superior. In 1971 she was sent in mission to Holy Family Community where she served as a nurse in the Community Infirmary. In 1987 she was the local coordinator of St. Michael's Community, in North Providence. In 1992, she was sent in mission to St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn where she ministered in the Pastoral Care Department. In 1998, she was sent in mission to O.L. Queen of Peace Community, North Providence. Her ministry in her later years has been that of prayer and suffering for the Church and the world. |

Sr. Marie-Madeline Paradis, FMM, entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary June10, 1940 In Quebec, Canada. She was sent to North Providence to complete her religious formation and pronounced her final vows December, 1948. She is a skilled seamstress and her ministries have utilized this skill in communities in New York, Providence, Cincinnati, and Boston. She taught religious education in North Providence. Later in life Sr. Madeline was sent in mission to Nairobi, Africa where her ministry was one of welcoming and hospitality. Returning to the USA she was sent in mission to Waukegan, IL where she assisted in the Center for the Poor. Her current ministry is that of prayer for the Church and the world. |

Her ministries were Child care In St. Francis Sanatorium now called St Francis Hospital, McMahon Shelter for Children in New York, and religious education In St. Michael's, Arizona with the Navajo People. She served as a receptionist in Divine Providence Community, Manhattan, New York. Later in life she obtained her Certification as a Nurse Aide and ministered in the FMM Skilled Nursing Facility, North Providence, Rhode Island. Her current ministry is that of prayer and suffering for the Church and the world. |

Sister Johanna Eekelder, FMM entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary March 12, 1935 in Amsterdam, Holland and made her final vows September 17, 1940 in Gooreind. She then served as a "commissioner" - one of many sisters of her Institute who traveled the country selling the handiwork made in the workrooms to support missionary works. In March, 1952 Sr. Johanna was sent in mission to Holy Family Community in the United States. She served as a role model and teacher of novices in the various works of the community. She was the director of the extensive grounds at Fruit Hill, planning and caring for the shrines and other landscaping. Her current ministry is that of prayer and suffering for the Church and the world. |

Sister Beatrice Cote, FMM entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary September 14, 1934 in Quebec, Canada. After pronouncing her first vows, she served as a "commissioner" - one of many sisters of her Institute who traveled the country selling the handiwork made in the workrooms to support missionary works. Sr. Beatrice was sent in mission to the Holy Land June 4, 1938 and made her final vows March 19, 1940 in Bethlehem. She was sacristan and in charge of hospitality for pilgrims as well as making altar bread for 15 convents and for the Basilica of the Nativity. A gifted seamstress she helped support her community's works by making goods for sale, a ministry that she continues currently. She delights in sending "sunshine cards" to many people who are ill and homebound. |

Sister Palmarita Mas, FMM entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary March 15, 1935 and made her final vows September 17, 1940 in Holy Family Novitiate, North Providence. In St. Francis Cardiac Hospital, (now called St. Francis Hospital), Roslyn, New York, she ministered as a supervisor of children who suffered from rheumatic fever. Later Sr. Palmarita accompanied the Sisters who traveled the USA selling their handmade goods to support their missionary works. She has served in community works in O.L. Charity, Bell Street, Providence, and in Holy Family Convent, North Providence. Her ministry in her later years has been that of prayer and suffering for the Church and the world. |

Sister Assunta Kislitzin, FMM was baptized in the Russian Orthodox Church and converted at age 16 to the Roman Catholic Church. She entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary December 13, 1934 in Chefoo, China. After completing her novitiate and studies in Rome and Grottaferrata, Italy Sr. Assunta was sent in mission to Tientsin, China. She made her final vows December 15, 1940 in Chang Chung, Manchuria. As she had been a teacher before she entered religious life, she began teaching in Notre Dame de la Victoires School. She also taught in Peking, and Macau, China. In 1968 she was missioned to the USA where she was a Parish Visitor in St. Anthony's, San Francisco visiting the poor. Her present ministry is prayer for the needs of the church and of the world. |

Sister Helen Anna Klumpp, FMM entered the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary June 12, 1935 in Holy Family Novitiate North Providence. She made her final vows December 15, 1940 in St. Francis Community, Roslyn, New York. As a licensed Practical Nurse and a licensed Laboratory Technician, Sr. Helen Anna worked in St. Francis Cardiac Hospital. Her other ministries were pastoral care in Tampa, Florida, in Arizona with the Navajo People, CCD in Brighton, Massachusetts, aide work in the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Skilled Nursing Facility and in the Fruit Hill Day Program for the Elderly. Her present ministry is prayer for the needs of the church and of the world. |
